Annie has been practicing yoga for over ten years. Initially coming to it on an off-and-on basis for a workout, she soon came to love the overall sense of peace and well being that came at the conclusion of each class and resolved to make it a permanent part of her life.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre - Directing/Dramatic Literature in 2007 from Christopher Newport University, Annie worked in the theatre and began practicing yoga with an increased sense of passion and purpose. In September 2009, she moved to New York City, went through the teacher training program at Sonic Yoga under Lauren Hanna (ERYT-500), Johanna Aldrich (RYT-500), and Will Duprey (ERYT-500). Since that training, Annie has become a certified and experienced practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage (studying under the Lotus Palm School's Jyothi Watanabe), Kids Yoga (certified by Shari Vilchez-Blatt, founder and director of Karma Kids Yoga), Prenatal Yoga (certified by childbirth and prenatlal yoga expert Juliana Secches), Mom & Baby Yoga (certified by postnatal expert Esther Jyothi Larson), and Circus Yoga (under founders Kevin and Erin Maile O'Keefe).
After five years of working as a yoga teacher in New York City, Annie has followed her growing passion for pre and postnatal care for women and became a DONA International trained doula under the legendary Debra Pascali-Bonaro in 2014, obtaining her official certification in early 2016.
By drawing upon the discipline and creativity gained from her theatrical experience as well as a solid personal yoga practice and excellent yoga teacher trainings, Annie hopes to share the joys of yoga with everyone, and is excited to expand her role of service into the world of supporting pregnant mothers and their families as a doula.
Annie lives in Astoria, New York with her fantastic and supportive husband Marc, and is a proud aunt to Atlas, Zoe, Caleb, and Kai.
